Ethereum price crossed through $2100, hitting 2023 High.
The Ethereum network achieved a significant milestone with the successful launch of the Shanghai Upgrade. This update enabled stakers to withdraw their staked ETH, which completed important aspects of the Proof of Stake (PoS) transition that were not included in the Merge last year.
Unlike the Merge, which caused a significant drop in ETH’s price, the Shanghai Upgrade did not trigger a sell-off. In fact, ETH has increased by over 9% since the update, reaching the $2100 level at the time of writing.
Gala Games to Airdrop Version 2 Tokens in May.
On May 15th, Gala Games will distribute a new version of their native tokens to users.
This new version, called v2 tokens, will be given to current holders of the v1 tokens at a ratio of 1:1. After the v2 token release, the v1 tokens are not expected to have any value.
According to Gala Games, the v2 tokens are part of a larger upgrade to the Gala smart contracts on the Ethereum network. This upgrade aims to enhance security and will introduce burn mechanisms, which could increase the tokens’ value in the future.
Crypto Exchange Bybit opens Global HQ in Dubai.
Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange, has recently inaugurated its global headquarters in Dubai, UAE.
This move was announced almost a year ago when the exchange received an initial approval to relocate its headquarters to Dubai.
Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up UAE, is a promising crypto hub in the region.
