Boojum Upgrade: zkSync Era’s New High-performance Proof System

Ethereum Layer 2 News Roundup Image 2

Matter Labs announced the Boojum upgrade, transitioning zkSync Era from SNARK-based to STARK-based proving systems. Boojum improves scalability, processing 100 transactions per second, and reduces hardware requirements from at least 80 GB of RAM to 16 GB.

The upgrade enables more user participation, enhancing decentralization and lowering transaction fees. Currently, the zkSync Era network is processing an average of 11.32 TPS, surpassing Ethereum and other Layer 2 solutions, according to L2Beat data. For more details, visit here.

Polygon Proposes Token Switch From MATIC to POL for More Utility

Ethereum Layer 2 News Roundup Image 3

Polygon founders and researchers propose upgrading the MATIC token to POL, which would serve as a single token for all Polygon-based networks.

POL is a hyperproductive, third-generation token that enables validators to validate multiple chains and perform multiple roles. It enhances ecosystem security, scalability, support, and user experience. POL holders can participate in governance and receive rewards through protocol emissions, transaction fees, and additional rewards.

Continuous POL emission is proposed to fund a self-sustainable Community Treasury for protocol development, research, grants, and incentives. The upgrade from MATIC to POL requires a simple action, and token holders would have ample time to migrate. For more details, visit here.

cLabs Proposal for Celo to transition to Ethereum Layer 2

Ethereum Layer 2 News Roundup Image 4

CLabs, the developers of the Celo blockchain, propose migrating to an Ethereum layer-2 solution using Optimism’s OP Stack. This move would enhance security, facilitate liquidity sharing between Celo and Ethereum, and promote collaboration among developers.

As Celo is already compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Ethereum developers can quickly transition their existing Dapps or create new ones using familiar tools. The suggested design includes off-chain data availability, powered by EigenLayer and EigenDA, operated by Ethereum node operators, and protected by restaked ETH. A governance proposal for community voting is set to be published by July 22.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Obtaining Up to 750 $EMC Airdrop via EtherMail

Ethereum Layer 2 News Roundup Image 5

EtherMail is a Web3 email solution designed for anonymous communication and encryption between wallets. The platform supports features for anonymous peer-to-peer (P2P) communication, and users have the opportunity to earn money by reading mail (Read2Earn model).

$EMT is the native token of the platform. However, the project has not been released on the blockchain or listed EMT on exchanges. Before the project’s native token, EMT, launches, $EMC will be used as a reward within the ecosystem. For a step-by-step guide to obtaining up to 750 $EMC, visit here.
