Kart Racing League is a Mario Kart-styled play-to-earn NFT racing game that will be launching on Polygon in early November 2021. With Polygon, players of Kart Racing League will benefit from the network’s low-cost and high-speed transactions.

The game’s governance token, $KRL, and their 3D Racer NFT characters are already live on Polygon. You can view their 3D NFT marketplace here: https://marketplace.kartracingleague.com/

This online multiplayer kart racing game will allow players to earn real money by winning races and tournaments. This multiverse will provide hundreds of thousands of people in the world with the opportunity to earn a living by working from home, which is something that is desperately needed given the turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This game is based on the economic model of Axie Infinity. In order to play the game, you need to own a Racer character, similar to the axies; however, with Kart Racing League you only need one NFT to play. In addition, Kart Racing League will be launching an inflationary in-game currency called Essence of Creation (or EoC), similar to Axie’s Smooth Love Potion (or SLP), and this token will also be launched on the Polygon network.

While Axie Infinity features turn-based gameplay, Kart Racing League attempts to up the ante with fast-paced engaging kart racing gameplay, using 3D NFTs compared with Axie’s 2D characters.

The team initially began the project on Ethereum, but quickly realized that the fees there made affordable gaming impossible. Prior to joining Polygon, the transaction costs for the governance token were over 20 USD per transaction. Now, after switching to Polygon, you can send your $KRL tokens for negligible fees.

The cost of using the Racer NFTs and integrating them into the kart racing game will also become negligible to the users as well by utilizing Polygon.

What is Polygon?

Polygon is the leading platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its growing suite of products offers developers easy access to all major scaling and infrastructure solutions: L2 solutions (ZK Rollups and Optimistic Rollups), sidechains, hybrid solutions, stand-alone and enterprise chains, data availability solutions, and more. Polygon’s scaling solutions have seen widespread adoption with 1000+ applications hosted, ~600M total transactions processed, ~60M unique user addresses, and $5B+ in assets secured.

What’s next for Kart Racing League?

The team just finished wrapping up their pre-sale of their $KRL governance tokens, which ended October 15. Their public sale is scheduled to begin on October 29, 2021, and will run for five days before they launch $KRL onto decentralized exchanges.

Also this month, the team is launching a closed beta of the Kart Racing League game, starting October 18, 2021.

Who is behind Kart Racing League?

Kart Racing League is produced by Blue Monster Games, which is a US-based game studio, headquartered in Florida. While the team consists of individuals from all over the world, the core management team is all living in the United States.

“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Polygon,” says Joseph Rubin, co-founder of Blue Monster Games. “Play-to-earn NFT gaming is the future of the gaming industry, and I think Polygon will be a key piece of infrastructure to facilitate these next-gen digital economies,” continued Rubin.
