zkSync has raised $458M in mission-driven funding and will go full open source at their next milestone
Matter Labs closed a $200 million Series C funding round led by Blockchain Capital and Dragonfly with participation from LightSpeed Venture Partners, Variant, and Andreessen Horowitz. The company has raised $458 million, including $200 million from BitDAO for ecosystem projects.
In the past two years, venture capital has flowed freely into blockchain projects, but investors are more cautious now. According to Cointelegraph Research, crypto and blockchain venture funding fell 66% quarter-on-quarter. 2022 could set records for funding deals and total capital raised.

They can continue to enable interoperability between zkSync and other ecosystems and provide fast, secure, and easy cross-chain user experiences.
Celer will continue to support asset bridging for external chain-to-mainnet token transfers. We’ll also support Celer’s Inter-chain Messaging Framework, a generic message passing protocol, to enable developers to build cross-chain dApps on zkSync 2.0.
This will allow dApps to create smooth cross-chain UXs between zkSync 2.0 and external blockchains and support NFT bridges, the ability to buy and sell NFTs across chains, and cross-chain reward claiming. All of these are possible with Celer IM’s one-click, one-transaction UX.
